"I first started in the financial world back in 2003 and soon established that my passion was in the mortgage and protection sector. Not long after advising it became clear to me that offering a friendly yet professional service was where I thrived, and through word of mouth I started to build foundations to set up Hallowes Mortgages. I was thrilled when my son Oliver joined and shared my vision, and together we have gone from strength to strength whilst maintaining those core values from the very start of building lasting relationships based on trust and excellence. I often get asked what it’s like working with family and the answer is very simple, it’s the most rewarding experience, our strong family bond translates into a supportive working environment and we certainly aren’t short on laughs in the office!
Outside of work I love spending time with my family, I have been over the moon to welcome my first granddaughter, who of course we are earmarking for the future of Hallowes Mortgages. I also enjoy the great outdoors with my 2 doggies Lennon and Lola and of course like to throw the odd holiday in".

Oliver Totty - Mortgage & Protection Advisor
"I first started working in the mortgage and protection industry back in 2015, where I started off as an apprentice and found myself working up to become a fully qualified mortgage and protection advisor in 2018. I specialised in the new build sector which is good for hitting the ground running with strict deadlines, but the end result of seeing clients move into their lovely new homes was what gave me the most satisfaction.
I’ve now been at Hallowes Mortgages since 2019 where I have continued to help people by offering them professional yet friendly advice and maintained those core values of what our family business has always offered. I also get asked what it’s like working with family and it was a definite shock to the system going to work with “Mum” however I’ve not looked back. We continue to grow organically through word of mouth and focus 100% on customer satisfaction so overall it’s turned out well.
Away from work you’ll find me at Bramall Lane cheering on my beloved Sheffield United – although it might be best to keep quiet about that bit! Beside Sheffield United, I love to travel, socialise with friends and family especially my new niece, I enjoy getting to the gym when I can and plenty of dog walks tends to keep me busy".

Carla Vilo-Valeria - Mortgage & Protection Advisor
"I first started working in mortgages in 2019 being the first point of contact for clients buying their first homes. I then moved on to become an administrator before sitting my exams in October 2023 to become a fully qualified mortgage and protection advisor.
I recently decided to take the leap and become self-employed, and I am thrilled to have joined this family run business! I have always worked with my family in many of their ventures, so I know that I love working in this kind of environment. I find helping people rewarding and want to provide a service I can be proud of at a great company.
Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my partner, friends and family, and exploring nature with my dog. Cooking is also a passion of mine; I enjoy hosting gatherings to share my new recipes with my friends and family. To counteract all the food I eat, I can be found in the gym a few times a week as well".

"I joined the Hallowes team in January 2024. I have over 30 years’ experience in the Administration and Customer Service industry. I have worked in numerous roles from leaving school and joining Barclays Bank on the old YTS scheme! I pride myself in providing excellent customer service and at the same time building a rapport with all our clients. I really enjoy working as part of the family business and having grown up with my cousin Keeley, and we know each other very well.
In my spare time I love to walk my dog Bailey and spend quality time with my friends and family over a glass of bubbles or two".
